{In my life this week}

Friends visited, a Halloween party, a day of relaxation and splurging on gorgeous purple yarn! I made good progress with my crochet shawl while Mel was here but my crochet love seems to be quite low at the moment, it’s sat all sad and lonely on the dining table at the moment.

{In our homeschool this week}

We completed no structured work this week for obvious reasons. However this week goes to show that children are always learning. While on the tour bus around Glasgow I was informed of several interesting facts the kids has found out while listening to the audio tour, we learned about life on a ship – I will admit the teens had a giggle when we reached the poop deck and explored the progression of motor vehicles at the museum of transport. Nibsy practiced his handwriting by writing out Ethan’s birthday card and rather a large amount of time was split between playing mine craft with the teens and playdough with littlest friend.

If you follow a timetable then take a break, it’s nice to have a week with no structured work – just go with the flow :) I think both adults and children are more inspired after some relaxation time.

{Places we’re going and people we’re seeing}

This week is shaping up to be another exciting one. We are seeing some free films courtesy of The National Youth Film Festival, Monday we are seeing The Croods with some friends and Wednesday we are seeing Planes. I haven’t told Nibsy about it yet but I think he will be very excited for planes. I had planned to take him when it was first released in to the cinemas but cinema tickets are just so expensive these days so I was super pleased to see it offered as a choice during the Film Festival. Tuesday is bonfire night and so we will be enjoying the bonfire and fireworks display on Glasgow Green, I hope to do some Bonfire Night themed crafts during the day.

{My favorite thing this week was}

Seeing our friends plus the Almond Valley Heritage Centre.

{My kiddos favorite thing this week was}

Oooooh tough one, obviously seeing his friends but after that I think the open top tour bus and scrubbing the decks of the Tall Ship, he really does love scrubbing those decks.

{I’m cooking}

I’m not but the husband is, roast chicken :) then as per usual I will cook curry and stew with the leftovers and make stock from the carcass. We like our chicken to go a long way.

{I’m grateful for}

This fabulous time we have been granted in Scotland, already the end seems too near.

{Something I am ogling or have my eye on}

Yarn again, ooooh the yarn cake had so much yumminess, now I just need to convince Matt that I need some lovely chunky yarn to learn to knit with. Think he’ll agree?
